The multinational pharmaceutical company will create 200 new jobs to produce its new product, Respimat, which will be marketed all over the world.
The pharmaceutical multinational Boehringer Ingelheim will invest 100 million euros in a new factory in Sant Cugat del Vallès, which will be built in the industrial complex that the company has in the city of Vallesana since 1999. It is a production center that will develop the Respimat product, the cartridge and the applicator of a medicine for the treatment of respiratory diseases, which will be distributed worldwide. The facility will have 14,000 square meters and will annually produce around 30,000 units of the medication when it is operating at full capacity. The new site, which will be completed in the summer of 2018, will involve the creation of more than 200 qualified jobs.
The pharmaceutical multinational placed on Monday the first stone of the new production center, which will have 14,000 square meters in addition to the more than 23,000 that the company has already built in Turó de Can Mates, in Sant Cugat. The expectation is that the construction works, which have already begun, will allow the factory to be operational within two years.
